Hello Terry. I know that "in the past" the N 1 & 5 series powders were / are temp sensitive. However, I was on the Vhit web-site and they have an interesting page. The "new" page now states that ALL of their powders are "temp stable", Copper remover and lot-to-lot consistent. Evidently they recognized what they were up against with the Hodgdon "Extreme" line and the new Alliant powders. I have not tried the new 150, 550 or 160 / 165 so I can't say. However, it is on their web-site! Maybe something to look into>>> I am going to!I tried 550 and 150. 150 gave me a sub 1" three shot group, followed by a 1.2 and a 1.5 at 600. Took it to a match and shot much bigger. Very temp sensitive. Never got 550 to work well enough.
Best wishes!
Do you shoot groups or F-Class with this?in the brx 33 gn 150 with 107s sierra -.015 from lands and brs pending barrel length 30-31 gn with 105 boogers -.010 from lands.
This is what I was hoping to hear. How long is your freebore? Thanks much. With a 6BR I ruined plenty of brass (primer pockets) and pierced primers trying to make Varget work at the upper velocity edge where the gun wanted to shoot. With H4350 Use a longer drop tube and a slower pour. Powder goes to neck shoulder junction. Not a compressed load. No powder crunching.
