Anyone tried 6.8X51/.277 Fury hybrid cases?

Can you feel the groove in the chamber ?
I've taken the paper clip I use to feel for case head separation sign and run it across that area of the chamber, and no, I can't feel anything. . . at least, not yet. That groove may not be large enough to feel, as you know how bore scopes magnify things greatly.

It's like nobody listens when somebody that helped develop the cartridge tells what's going to happen.
If I'd seen this thread before I went down this path... well I wouldn't be here. Luckily Tikka barrels are relatively cheap.

I wish I had a set of gauge pins but by scientific fingertip, it almost feels wider all the way below the .20" line rather than just a ring.

Good info.

I am wondering as to the Sig .277 Fury all brass cases being simply necked up to .308..or..NOT being completely re-sized into .308 Winchester dimensions. The non Hybrid .277 Fury case should have more capacity than a .308 Win case......Of course some one would have to make a reamer for a .30-.277 Fury. Might be a good option for more oomph for the .308 without going to a magnum, larger bolt face etc. What do you guys think? I know I could do that with a .30-.284 also of course, but this .277 fury brass might be a lot easier to find than in .284, and the .308 AI doesn't really yield very much....Again, just a short action thought.

Have to correct myself here, seems to be a ring only at the brass-steel interface, maybe from gas jetting.

Not gas leakage. This was extensively tested during the cartridge cases developement. The ring is created by the steel head expanding and not springing back like brass does.
