Anyone shot the new rem700 varmints

Looking at this from midway usa but curious if anyone had put some handloads through one on a bench out to 300yards ?
Will thay shoot under 1in at 100? 3in at 300?
About 5 years ago I bought a new Rem 700 ADL 22-250 with a varmint wt. barrel. Cheap $599 at Caballa's.. The tupper ware stock is garbage. I put a Kreiger 6BRX barrel on it. It shoots around .350" groups. A Jewell trigger won't fit in the stock without removing a lot of tupper ware plastic. I don't think the barrel channel is real straight, but it shoots OK with the new barrel. Never shot it as a 22-250.

everyone complains about the rem 700 they are not garbage everyone I've shot shoots great if you want benchrest accuracy by a bench gun it will cost alot more if you are getting half to one inch groups from a mass produced gun for hunting whats the complaint bed the action get good barrel a good stock and a good trigger and you will get benchrest accuracy if you buy a aftermarket action you have to do the same to get good accuracy 600 for a rem or 3 to 4 thousand for a good bench gun just my two cents also alot of aftermarket actions are 700 clones.

If I were to buy a factory rifle, I’d go with a Tikka or CZ.

CZ makes a rifle with an aluminum receiver and integral picatinny rail at a cheaper price point than the Rem 700. The CZ is ready to go right out of the box where a Remington needs everything changed out to be decent.

Link to the CZ 600 Alpha rifle. Sub MOA guaranteed.

Cheap crap barrel is clamped on cheap stock rem 700 is 100 times better big recall on cz 600.

Friend of mine just got one of the AAC-SD Tactical models. With Hornady Black, it shot 0.4" for four rounds his first time out. Then he followed it up with another group of 3 in the 0.4" range. His was placed in a cheap KRG Bravo chassis and taken out of the Hogue stock it came in.

I would add Howa rifles to the list also.

Just for clarification, are we talking the new Rem Arms, or the last of the Remington RR stuff. All my R700s shoot fantastic. Have not shot any new Rem Arms yet. I think their attention to detail may be a little better and, they got rid of the crappy Xmark pro trigger...
Would like some reports on the new stuff rather than hear everyone complain about the remnants of what Remington was in Bankruptcy.

Save yourself some hassle, get a Tikka Varmint Model.
This guy spoke the TRUTH !!! I'm not a F Class shooter or a paper puncher ...I've owned many of the higher end actions from factories and some GAP and Lawton actions...had many Win 70's and Remmy 700's over 40 years ...

I own 2 Tikka T3x currently and like he said ...The Super Varmint is BADAZZ !!! save your money and buy a Tikka !! there's nothing more to say ....otherwise buy a POS Rem 700 and dream about the Tikka you could have had ... Action flows like ice .....ragged holes ...

Lol. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Do you even know what the recall is? They were originally designed to let people swap barrels for different chambering, but there’s too many idiots out there that couldn’t do it safely, so they are just making the barrels on them fixed now. I’m sure everything being sold now has had the recall done. Do you think Remington hasn’t had recalls on their 700 rifles? They have the worst triggers on the market.

I guarantee ANYTHING made by CZ will outperform anything from Remington these days. CZ will have a better stock, better triggger, better integral rails, and I’d put money on the CZ for out of the box accuracy against any Remington SPS. The SPS is the cheapest line Remington has. Its garbage.
All companies have recalls I'm not talking about their low end stuff cz also makes low end crap also I've had remingtons that would out shoot your cz all day look at the cheap looking stock on the cz 600 looks like crap also don't be a hater all brands can shoot good cz included rems could have good triggers but everyone wants to sue when an idiot tries to adjust one and they don't have a clue what there doing put a timmney 700 hit trigger in good to go then a 600 dollar rifle is still a 600 dollar rifle whoever makes it you get what you pay for everyone wants .5 accuracy out of cheap rifle that's made for deer hunting good luck with that I'm not bashing cz just stating a point.

I have had some Remington PSS 223 back in the 90's that shot as good as my Tikka does..
They used to make a decent rifle...but today , speaking about today ...They ship garbage ..
Just buy a Tikka , or Weatherby or Howa ....
When all else fails just listen to .....

I’ve always liked the design of the Howa action. They are heavy, but that’s because they are built like a tank. In my opinion, it’s as if they took the best design features from the Winchester model 70 and Remington 700, then melded them together, and took it one step further to improve the design even more with the use of an M16 extractor. I really like using the Howa platform in my varmint rifles where the extra weight is a good thing.

With the Gunblokes spring kit installed, the HACT trigger is actually quite good. I put the kit in my HOWA mini’s and 1500 short actions. The trigger can be made plenty light enough for varminting use so I’m happy. It’s actually very similar to the trigger found in Tikka and Sako rifles. You just can’t do much with the Remington X-Mark triggers so they are something that needs to be immediately tossed in the garbage.

On the Howa, I don’t particularly care for the factory standard Hogue rubberized stocks, tho they are still a far cry better than the Remington 700 SPS stocks. There are some factory Howa offerings with HS precision stocks and some good aftermarket options so not a huge issue.

I’ve owned and shot many 700’s from the 70’s and 80’s. Can’t give an opinion on the newest version. I can say that I’ve shot many Tikkas and they all were as good, if not better, then the Remingtons OUT OF THE BOX. If you plan on doing anything at all to customize, go with a Remington, too many options. But that’s not what the OP asked… in for the info on how the newest 700’s stack up out of the box.

I don’t think the 700 is even a good option for using as a base in custom rifle builds anymore because there are so many aftermarket 700 footprint actions available at good prices. The aftermarket actions will cost less in the long run compared to trying to modify a factory 700. Even with all the money in the world dumped into a factory 700, it can still never be as good as an aftermarket action with superior materials and stronger receiver designs.

Back in the day, Rem 700 was a no brainer. But in todays market with so many superior factory rifles and aftermarket options for custom build platforms, I would pass on a factory 700 every time.

Unless I've missed something, everyone seems to be referring to yesteryear's 700 and not the 700 currently made by the new RemArms. I, too, would like to know about the new 700. A gunsmith I know well told me last week he could not improve the new 700 action due to the precision of the CNC machines they are produced with. I would expect them to be better than yesteryear's 700.
