Info needed from anyone actually shooting 180 Hybrids in the 7 STW.
What is your powder of choice and what MV at you getting.
What group size at 100 yards can I expect.
Twist.
Are you shooting a heavy barrel bench rest gun or sporter.
I am only looking for info on 180's, 183's, or heavier.

Considering a STW barrel for a long range benchrest rig. 2 K plus.
Thanks in advance!

I'd bet RE33 would make then go and shoot good. It seems to work great in big cases with the heavier bullets. Usually great velocity with great accuracy. Matt

I tried the 180's in my STW but don't have enough twist (mine is 1:10). The 180's stabilize in my 1:9 284 fine, but the 175 ABLR did not (it is longer). I haven't run stability calcs recently but am guessing a 1:8.5 or 1:8 would be the best choice for twist. Air density plays a role in stability so if you are shooting at higher elevations you have more room to play with twists. I love my STW but have been disappointed in velocities using heavier bullets (over 150 grains). I get around 3150 with 168's but 3400 with 150's. As said above, the 28 nosler seems like a better choice for the heavies.

Wow I would have thought more velocity out of a 7 STW. I know some guys shooting a 7WSM getting 3200 with them. Matt

Rl 33 and 195 bergers are now my bullet of choice in a 9 twist 29" #6 stw.
I have only tested to 600 yds but hold under 1/2 moa.
Settled on 3080'fs to see how that nosler brass will hold up ,but they will
run over 3200.

Nosler makes 338RUM brass, and I just happen to know a hungry gunsmith with a 7/338RUM reamer and 7mm throater.....;)

With the speeds I was getting for antelope loads with 140`s, I`m thinking 3200 fps without hammering the brass with 180`s.
