Anyone know anything about Black Star barrels

I have the opportunity to purchase a custom built long range 308 rifle. The owner is touting the fact that it has a Black Star custom barrel. I personally have never heard of this company, I would appreciate any feedback anyone has about the company and the barrels it produces. ThnX

Their "secret to accurcy" was a weird process of using acid in the bbl with electolosis to eat away the "high spots left by mfg" thus haveing a smother bbl.

how do you keep the acid in contact only with the "high spots" ----- bull bleep,

If you get a Blackstar that "really" shoots it will be an anomaly. A bunch of Palma types got their barrels (free or very cheap) back around year 2000 and nobody ever had a hummer. It just wasn't worth the effort/cost/time to keep chambering/fitting them, only to find out they wouldn't shoot.

Blackstar had some kind of process that was supposed to make the bore smoother. They made lots of claims hyping it. They used Walther barrels because the process worked best with Walther's steel alloy.
