Anyone install a Kinney's Extractor/Ejector kit recently?

I have 2 Savage Model 12 receivers and have always had issues with the case falling off and not being ejected.
Installed the Kinney's extractor/Ejector and problems solved.

Not I just install one one my Savage Custom shop Model 12 receiver.

I quickly noticed that the bolt is a very hard close on a new case. Extracts and ejects great, but the bolt close take about twice the force of my others.

When I installed the ejector it was very difficult to compress the spring so I could get the pin in.

Anyone experience this?

Possible solution?

Not being rude here. Quit throwing parts, time, money and effort in savages.

I have, I know, been there. Wish I never would have now.

Spend $750 on a receiver. You will be glad you did. Receivers are the cheapest thing you will buy in this hobby.

Depress the ejector to ensure it's below the level of the bolt face. As I recall, the kit ejectors were a little longer than OEM ejectors. Possible debris at the bottom of the ejector slot?

I’m getting close to being in the same boat. I’m savage tried and true but 1 purchase of a bighorn origin lead to another

This morning I took the ejector out and made sure the hole was clean. With the ejector out the bolt closed as normal.
Reinstalled the ejector and made sure the ejector was inside the bolt head and not sticking out beyond the bolt head.
Retried and got the same results.

My first thought was maybe the head spacing is tight. I will check that next.
