anyone have any info on the 6br dx

Oh you guys got me thinking about trying a 1-8 twist bore and i was looking at the 6br dx and it looks like a 6br AI to me.It looks like something i might try.Was wondering if anyone had one or was shooting one that could give me some feedback on it?

i am highly interested in this cartridge as well. after i burn up my 6br barrel, i am going to chamber the next barrel in 6br-dx. if you look at the guns of the week archive, you will find a rifle chambered in that. i cant remeber what week so just hunt around for it. this sounds like the ideal improved 6br round. easy case forming and high velocity.

It's Gunweek 60

Cole,

like you, my 6BR is being rebarrelled to DX in the very near future in time for our winter series of UKBRA 600yd comps starting at the end of October.

The only potential fly in the ointment is dies as nobody lists them even as a special order custom option. I put a post on the forum a couple of months ago asking for suggestions, but didn't get very far with it. I have a friend who went down the DX route a couple of years ago and he manages with standard dies, basically because he gets away without the need for much if any sizing in a tight chamber, so I'm hoping I can do the same. The alternative appears to be to get a set of .243AI dies and cut them down to 6BR length. What are you planning to do?

i was going to get a wilson blank and send it along to have it reamed. i was thinking about getting one of the hornady hydraulic form dies in 6BR-DX but might just get a forster and have it modified or they may sell blanks as well. i might buy myself the DX reamers so i have them on hand for when i need to rebarrel. i wish there was more info on this round, i like the looks of it and think it has more potenial then the dasher and others. i would like to see what kind of velocity is being attained with the 107s, but 3100 +- with the 88-95s is screaming.

3300 fps with 88 grainers and 3200 fps with 95s. i was a little off. but that is with a 25" barrel. that is screaming.

Yea you would think someone be shooting one and have some info on dies loads, ect, found that artical on the record group rifle and he said reading made the dies so i would give reading a call to try to get dies. the rifle in the artical was a .262 neck. and i cant have that, i would have to call and have them make me my own reamer with a .269 or .272 neck.

I am looking at the 6BRDX too. It looks like an excellent design. I like the neck being longer than the bullet diameter. I think the .262 neck in the article may have been a typo, probably meant .272 but that is just my opinion. Improved performance and it just looks right.
