Anyone have a 6.5 CM that hates H4350?

Well I tried Fed210M, CCI200, and Rem 9 1/2 along with WLR primers seated from the lands at 2.87 all the way down to 2.772

At 2.79 the MOA was a little better with the Fed, Cci, and WLR all with SD under 5.

There is a grippy spot in the barrel about 2 inches forward of the chamber that isn’t going away. It’s enough to tension up my cleaning rod. Gonna have to get it scoped as it feels like a problem.

Don’t think this one is gonna make the woods this year regardless... oh well. I can always surrender it to the government.

I've no clue as to the FPS, ES, or SD of my 6.5cm loads in my factory hunting rifle , but it shoots quite well with 42.5 grs of H4350 behind the 139gr scenar. It's 2-0 at a local club match I've taken it too.

Got it scoped. Major defect about two inches in front of chamber. Took it off and sending it back.

That sucks but glad you found the issue. Fwiw if a creedmore won’t shoot 140 gr eldm’s with h4350 and fgmm primers you got issues.

Thats my personal experience and what Ive heard firsthand from at least a dozen other people..

Was aiming for 2820 FPS with a 22" 6.5 CM. No nodes or plateaus were found though.

Peterson Brass
H4350
WLR
130 Sierra Gamechanger
41.9gr (2710FPS) - 43.2gr (2840FPS) 42.9gr gave me 2817 Avg. 43gr 2824
2.805-2.825 COAL (-.030, -.010)

My loaded ammo is extremely uniform in all respects. ES for all loads was under 10 over 5 shots. I am surprised that I can't seem to get this combo to produce better than 1 1/2 MOA within the ranges provided above.

I've been thinking about shortening the COAL in increments down to about 2.770 and perhaps even trying a different primer, but I've never had trouble tuning H4350 with a WLR and the gamechanger has been one of the most accurate bullets I've ever shot. I’m at .0025 neck tension.

Having a good understanding of the factors at play here, I can't help but wonder if my barrel just doesn't like H4350, but is that even a thing?

Besides seating depth and testing a different primer, does anyone think I need to look for a node a little faster? If so, how much?
I am having good luck with H4350. All 100yd groups have been at or below .5 with 120gr ELD-M over 43gr, H4350. One group was .350”. Shot one group of Sierra 140gr MK at .468” with 38.8gr. Will test these at 300 next week, then to Rock Castle, KY for longer ranges.

Well I tried reloder 16 in my 260Rem tonight. First try with that powder. 130 Gamechanger in Lapua brass with a CCI 200. Got up to 2885 FPS with no pressure and the groups were averaging about .380” for five shots. Shot a 10 shot group that was .537”. So I switched to reloder 16 tonight... at least for hunting.

RE17 has replaced H4350 in my lineup. I also agree with the use of F210 primers but the change to RE17 in my Tikka .260 CTR has both tightened up patterns and increased velocity. A good friend refers to it as "Magic Dust"
