Anyone have a .223 Rem. w/.060 freebore...

Does anyone have a .223 Rem chambered with .060 thousands freebore to shoot the 69g, 75, and 80g heavy bullets. If you have a .060 freebore chamber...what is the OAL of the loaded rounds to touch the lands. This will be in a Rem 700 bolt gun that I will use in FTR class shooting at only 600 yards. Thanks.

The answer to your question depends upon what brand bullet you are using, as different brands have differing rates of curvature.
You can easily determine this your self by severals methods.
One way would be to have several resized, UNPRIMED cases, and start out by seating the bullet you wish to use out a little too far in one case, coat the bullet with a black marker, or smoke, and attempt to chamber it. The length of the groove marks on the bullet will give you a rough idea on how much farther you need to seat the bullet
Repeat this with a fresh bullet seated at the new depth, and repeat until you have the amount of engagement in the lands that you want. There are several other methods that will work as well, but this requires very little extra equipment.
Be aware that the lands slowly erode away from the chamber, and your seating depth might require adjustment once a year or so.
