Anyone ever inletted?

Anyone ever in-letted a stock that is factory in-letted for HS and wyatt bottom metal to fit some kind of AI mag bottom metal with a rem 700 action? Just want to make sure it will work before I go at it. Its a cheap stock... just temp...

Not the clearest to understand post there... but you get the idea..

Get some Acraglas from Brownells and go for it. This stuff will make you look good. It will fix all you could mess up..

+1 on epoxy to help fix inletting 'lessons'. You might consider something for paste-like a la JB Weld (they make a steel reinforced type now), Devcon, Steel Bed (Brownells product), Marine-Tex, and others. I found Acraglas a bit too runny for my tastes. White Marine-Tex can be colored, others are grey to charcoal colored.
A Dremel is worth it's weight in projects like this as are small scrappers for corners and small diameter curves.
Go slow. Have fun!

Or, just use Acraglas Gel :), won't run hardly at all...comes with coloring dye to derive various shades of black and brown and easy to work with. And, don't forget the "Play-Dough", to dam it up in places where it might tend to flow a little bit. Also need some tape...to tape up some metal parts to add layers of thickness to provide clearance later between the bedding, as might be needed, box magazines, etc.

Sounds good. I paid 30 for the stock... just something to get this gun shooting for this deer season... ill do it right next year... just dont have the cash for a good stock right now..
