Anyone else play Battlefield One?

My wife bought me an Xbox One for Christmas and I've been playing Battlefield One ever since. Anyone else strung out on this game?

I've never been a gamer before, but damn, this is FUN! I thought benchrest shooting was a challenge. That is nothing compared to the difficulty of playing BF1. The reflexes of these young kids are simply amazing. I'm lucky to break even on my kill to death ratio. I see now why the military are recruiting gamers.

If you like to shoot rifles, and have never played video games, BF1 really is a fun challenge.

I've never seen much similarity between firing four position with a rifle and sitting in a chair aiming and shooting with a mouse. Maybe using video game equipment would be more realistic than a keyboard/mouse. so having not tried it, I won't knock it.

Xbox uses a hand held controller, not a mouse. So it is much different that playing a computer game. Clearly you don't shoot like a gun, but you still have to aim...you do it with your thumb instead of using a joy stick or mariner wheel and windage knob. And you do this during the heat of battle. Trust me...much more difficult.

The other aspect of this particular game is you don't play it alone, or against the computer. You play on a squad of 5 people, with a total of 32 or 64 people on your side, against squads of similar size as the enemy. If the 5 people in your squad play together, and work together, you do much better and score higher. For example if 3 of you play the assault role, one plays as a medic and one plays support providing ammo, you do much better.

The realism of the game is truly amazing. I sit on my couch sweating and get all sorts of adrenaline rushes during the game. Your mind is 100% engaged. Compared to riding the couch watching TV, which in the PNW you do a lot of during the wet winters, this is a much better alternative.

My son got me an Xbox and showed me how to play one of the on line Call of Duty games. I played for a while and tried to get better but soon realized I was never going to be good enough to live thru the onslaught of 12 year olds that played 10 hours a day. I gave it back.:D

I play COD- call of duty when im waiting for wife and kids to get home or go somewhere. I picked up a new 4k Xbox one s and battlefield came with it. I test drove it for about 5 mins. I thought it was decent but couldn't wait to get back to the cod campaign with black opsII and III. Ill revisit battlefield. I love video games!!
Fun to play kid rated games with kids when raining, other wise we're playing outside sports. A video game (Wii) got my daughter into archery!

Realistic compared to what? I suppose now the Veterans Administration will be deluged with applications for disability and medical services due to PTSD.

Similarly if you've never opened up to allow for the rush from a video game you live an inversely sheltered life. Competition is competition whether its from your couch or having to drive across multiple states.

I've not played an advanced video game so I don't know what the rush from one is, but I seriously doubt that the collapse that follows it can in any way compare to the few minutes following actual combat.

I don't think anybody in any way is or would compare a video game to life threatening real world experience. The "realism or realistic" expressions are meant to describe graphics. Video games have come a long way. Still much room for growth in the virtual world.
Many of our sons and brothers in arms in active military play these games to pass time.
