I was checking these out last night, online.I think the Burris FastFire III is a good deal at the moment. Nice balance of quality and not too expensive
I was checking these out last night, online.
Comes with picitinny rail mount included.
$199 at my "local" shop.
Henry shows their bases as being made by EGW.
So i checked with EGW.
They state i have to remove the rear sight.
I'm thinking i might modify the base instead.
I’ll bet that one gets your attention! It's the Brass Single Shot in 45-70.
H015B.
I may have to take the brass butt plate off and put a soft butt pad on. I'll see after i shoot it.I’ll bet that one gets your attention!
That's the same train of thought I had for my wife's deer rifle years ago. I like watching wild boar fever and the fast shooting. I did end up switching back to a scope before she ever had an opportunity to test it out. She missed a gimmie shot at a doe that ran up to 45 yards this year because some dingus didn't put the scope back down off of 12x after he finished Checking zero before season started..... Torn between a red dot and a fixed low power scope for next year on her rifle. Geuss I'll have to have her try both.I run a Trijicon MRO on an AR carbine frequently and I also use them on specialty pistols for short range (100 yards and in). I have been toying with the idea of putting one on a turkey gun. I have also become a fan of Aimpoint's Wild Boar Fever show and thought a red dot equipped rifle would be the way to go on running game, I often shoot at running hogs and occasionally take a shot on a running deer.
