Well I did a short ladder with R-15.5 in my 284-ELF ( a really
short 284 Winchester cat of mine) My match ammo I settled
on uses IMR-4166. So with all things equal, I just basically
substituted powders. and shot 5 groups of 4 to get a simple
look. Targets were not that spectacular with just a powder
switch, And velocities were slow. 4166 is way faster and used
2/10ths increment's. 2/10ths with R-15.5 looked pretty flat.
At least I'm ball parked for work down the road.

Tested RL15.5 last week, had some promising groups at 600yd, my barrel seems to like 32.5 and 32.6 grains, haven’t played with seating depth yet, just jammed Roy’s 103’s 0,005 to start with

You are correct, totally, in your thinking. Here is the information you want, with 3 different cases filled to top. I could fit 25.1 grains in the case with a 77 SMK and load to 2.260, but it would require so much force to seat, it would be incredible.
Reloader 15.5 Review
I will not use this powder for 223, its way too bulky. This powder makes little sense to use for 223. You would use AR Comp, or N140, or Varget, or SW PR, or you name it, is better.
I am testing this in Valk right now. That will be far, far better. As I already use RL16 in Valk and think its great.
1 kernel of this powder, is about .025 grains. So 4 kernels is about .1 grains. So basically, 1 kernel has a FPS impact of about 3-5 FPS. estimation, not a fact.
The Reloder 15.5 did better in Valkyrie is one of the lowest SD/ES producing powders I ever tested.

I dont think the cartridge is that accurate, compared to 5.56/223. In an AR15, that is. But tuned, probably can do consistent .6 MOA.
