Anybody load .224 bullets in a 22 Savage HP?

Curious how or if something like this would work. Obviously its not ideal but still curious.

.225 cast work pretty good. Slug your barrel to see what you actually have, 22 hi power seem to vary a bit.

Definitely slug the barrel. When smokeless powder was still a new thing, some folks theorized that a bullet needed to be oversized to seal all that gas pressure. I’ve read many accounts of 22 HP barrels actually being .224”.

Buffalo Arms also has .228 bullets from 45gr up. I use their 55gr .228 bullet in my BRNO combo gun 12ga/22 Highpower(5.6x52R) for coyote hunting.
