65gr Sierra in the 223.

Just curious if anybody uses this bullet. Don't really see much information on it. I have shot a few in my 223 AR with an 8 twist and thought I would see if anybody else is using this bullet. I have tried RL15, H4895, 4064 and H335 and best load so far is 24gr of H4895. Not great but OK. Gonna try some 748. Anybody else?

I also had so-so results in my 1:8 with H335 and RL15. I was going to use it to anchor coyotes, but have since built a 25-223 and they've sat on the shelf since.
I may have to work up a load with AR-Comp sometime as I've had great results with it in everything I've tried.

Used them for quite awhile out of my AR 223AI for predators and loved them.

I shoot them out of a 1-10 Tikka and they shoot great. I won "Sporter Class" with it this year at our local 100 and 300 Yd benchrest match, 26gr Varget gets 3100fps.

Shot two whitetail with them with good results although no blood trail, ran about 80 yds. I also shot 4 coyote with the 55 gr gameking, all 4 were bang flop. I am getting 2940 fps out of a 20" barrel with the 65's and 3100 fps with the 55's. By the way there was no visible damage on entry or exit on the coyote. I would say 1/2" -1" groups @ 100 yds.

Thats good to hear about the 748. I just picked some up to try. Maybe I'm expecting too much. My H4895 load shoots right around .8-1".

I am getting about 3/4 inch groups with my 1-8" twist AR and with my 1-12" t/c prohunter. I'm using varget powder, and the bullets work great on deer. I hunt the small, tender ones for the freezer, so I don't need anything bigger. I used the Sierra starting loads for the 69 matchking, and worked up.

PS: 748 is also a great powder for the 223, if you have some try it out.
