Anybody have a Varget or 4064 Load for Berger 105's?

Hi All

Anybody ever use 4064 in 6mm norma br? Or have a great load for varget. I have been using 4895 to great effect but would like to try out a few different (new) things.

Thanks.

One particular 6BR I built for a friend turned in the best groups with 28.0 grains of 4064 with 105 grain bullets. Velocity was a bit slow and he wanted it faster, so I worked up a load with RL-15 that was almost as good but 200 fps faster.

Varget is my powder of choice for the 6mmBR 29.0 -30.5grs with 105gr and 108's in a 1 in 8 twist 33.0gr to 34.5grs. with 62gr-70gr bullets out of a 1 in 12 twist.

So far the sweet spot for my Savage F-class is 25 thousanths jump and 30.1 grains of 4895. I did a ladder test this weekend with 0.3 grain jumps starting at 29.5 working up 30.4 grains. I did this for 3 thousandths jumps as well. Yous could see by the paper that my barrel like the 30.1 the most in both lengths. Although the former group at 25 thou was amazing. That was using CCI BR4, Lapua brass and Berger 105 Hybrids. I have some 105 VLD's coming tomorrow. Next thing I plan to try is .1 grain increments from 29.9 through 30.2 grains. As soon as I do that I will get out the Chonograph and see how fast that is. BTW I fired 10 rounds of each as I wanted to do a thorough test.

Apparently, my gun prefers jumping over jamming.

Varget: With 105 Hybrids I start a new barrel at 29.8 up through 30.6 in 0.2 grain increments. Hybrids jumped 0.010" If there isn't a winner in there somewhere it most likely won't turn out to be a great barrel.
This advice for the Hybrid 105 worked great for me. I have a 30"/1.250" 6BR barrel and ended up with 30.3gr to 30.5gr of Varget and .010" to .020" jump as my zone to fine tune from, which I am still testing with.
