Anybody got any cool non shooting habits?

How much shooting can I do?
Being retired and with covid somewhat limiting my activities I needed something else to do.
I always wanted to build a cool car and I am pretty good mechanically but when it comes to body work I stink (there's just no other way to say it). Fortunately for me my buddy John is a retired Ford body and fender guy. He talked me into building a kit car. After about two years of work the results are pictured below.

Built it from a Factory Five Racing kit. Dropped in a 580HP Ford 5.2 Liter Coyote, 6 speed Tremec trans, Centerforce clutch w aluminum flywheel and an independent rear suspension.
It even has A/C, a JBL sound system (removable), onboard fire system and a backup camera (necessity). Couldn't use the traditional Cobra Daytona Coupe twin side pipes as they were rattling every window in the neighborhood so I went with single tube "Quiet Pipes".
It only weighs about 2600 lbs and with all that HP it goes like a bat out of hell!!! That is once you get it off the line, step down hard on the pedal and it lights up the tires.
John really outdid himself on the paint and body work.
(First time posting pictures so I hope they show up OK)

Besides rifles, I'm involved with NHRA drag racing. My most recent car was this Stock Eliminator '68 Nova G/SA 327-275 hp combination. On the NHRA G/SA index of 12.00, it went a best of 10.94 @119.80 mph.

I live 4 miles from there

That is beautiful. Would love to go for a ride in that. Amazing work.

If you ever plan a trip to SC look me up. I love taking it out on the road but I have to tell you it's a scary car to drive being that light with that much power and no traction control. If you don't respect it, it can get away from you real fast. I don't want to end up like some of these young rich kids who buy a Ferrari and within a week end up putting it into a guard rail because they think they have the abilities of a F1 driver. The other drawback to it is it sits so low that speed bumps are a real problem and even getting a jack under it is a challenge.

I am Chef Woofie......... :-)
Yesterday's Christmas lunch: Turkey breast fillet, stuffed with cornbread, shitake and white truffle stuffing, then wrapped with smoked bacon

I also enjoy curing and smoking meats, making my own kefir, beet kvass and kombucha.
And I consider myself a half-way decent amateur herpetologist. No I don't cook and eat them.
I *used* to be: instrument-rated pilot, ultrarunner, triathlete, but all that is in my past.

I have driven a Sumbeam once with the 350 in it. The weight to BHP is similar, not as drastic but similar in outcome. That car scared the heck out of me. Just not a well balance car with all that weight in the front and almost nothing in the rear.

In college I was dating a girl who's father had a 1969 Corvette with the 427 in it and 4 on the floor. He would let us take the vet out sometimes. He warned me to watch out about that transfer leaf spring in the rear. Well I jumped on it coming onto the freeway once and by the time I got a hold of it. I had hopped, skipped and jumped four lanes to the right. They didn't call them Jack Rabbits for nothing. Luckily there was almost no traffic out and nothing happened to the car.

Road rider for many years.
Here -a carbon fiber bike about 1/3 of the way up Mt. Lemmon near Tucson, AZ Mar 2021. Bike weighs 17.5 lbs, so no excuses :)
I have done that ride :-( More fun down than up, esp. if one is silly enough to drop onto the aerobars.

That looks like a 51-52 ford/merc grille. Only reason I know that I because my dad built a '52 F1 shortbox and that was his baby for over 30 years.
You are correct!!! I used two 51 pickup grills to make the one and a 51 hood to make the cowl. We started with an 86 F-150. He wanted an old hot rod but out of his budget. So may plan was to make an affordable truck look old.

Before shooting got hold of me, I traveled the US playing softball. From Seattle to Florida and all points in between. Broke my leg REALLY bad 5 years ago so quit that and started shooting, mainly PRS but gonna get into f class a little. Picture is of the team that took 3rd in the Major World Series @ Disney in 2010. 1670999514433652192629516870520999590126595702185295n.jpg

Paint was rusting through and motor needed rebuilt. It don't look like this now. This pic was ten yr. ago
Its on blocks, motor out and body in epoxy primer. Work in progress. Randy

There used to be one of those in town on one of the major side streets I'm on a lot , always thought it would be cool to have another hot rod but didn't want to get into another money pit. So one day I'm over at a buddys house and there sits the Javelin . He traded a scooter for it, a little gas scooter. Car ran and drove ,all original
