I'm thinking about doing either a 6.5x47L with the neck shortened to caliber length and no other changes or the same with a bit less taper and a 40 degree shoulder. I want to run a 20" barrel with a suppressor but I'd like to try and get the velocity up around where a standard 6.5x47L is in a 26-28". The bore rider throats are suppose to be good for around 100fps. A lot of the powder charges result in a pretty full case in a standard and with the bore rider design you need to up the powder charge so that is the reasoning behind the improved version. If it adds more velocity then all the better. I know a few on here run improved versions but I haven't heard of any bore rider/stepped throats. Anyone with bore rider/stepped throat experience? Or any other feedback on it?
