338 LM improved reamer design

wi50,
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Is this coming from someone who has been there, done that, got the t-shirt?

I'm not saying it's bad. I've got one, but I haven't fell in love with it yet and I don't think that day is coming. It's going to become another .338 rogue when the time comes. A few of us went to the 33xc and to the best of my knowledge each one of us is going back to the rogue or lapua improved versions.

Just curious, but why are you going back to the Lapua Imp. over the 33XC??

I'm a big fan of and have both, the 338 Lapua Imp and 30-338 Lapua Imp. Mine are, both, throated pretty long and if I recall my 338 Lap Imp has somewhere around .260 FB. A 300gr SMK 3.872 is touching and a 300gr Berger 4.022 is touching

My lap imp has gone over 3100 fps with 300 Bergers. Nodes roughly around 3000 and 3100. I have the Hornady custom shop making die sets. I have to tweak one thing on the die and make a new print with a no turn neck then I will release them both to the public. Then there will be a proven reamer and die set available which will make the 338 lap imp much easier to get into.

This is the reamer print from my 338Lap Imp build, curious to see how others compare.
