I've not noticed a significant drop off in accuracy shooting 38 special reloads in a 357 chamber but would not recommend this for bullseye shooting but who shoot a revolver in bullseye anymore; probably no one.
Still very common in Australia 38spl in 357m for bullseye shooting.

That's music to my ears - when I first started shooting bullseye in the 60's there were a predominance of revolvers on the line - the S&W Model 17 and Colt Officer's Model Match ruled the range in rimfire; the S&W Model 14 and Colt Officer's Model Match in 38 special ruled the centerfire stage; the real problem was in the 45 match, there just wasn't a premier revolver - the Model 25 S&W required rebarreling to shoot target lead bullets accurately so a lot guys used the Colt 1911 Gold Cup which wasn't too good either unless you had it accurized. The really good shooters had 1911's accurized by guys like Giles who did a terrific job.

Bronc -

Howdy !

Here's a pic of a group I shot some years back.

4" .357Mag "N"-Frame as-fast-as I could pull the trigger..... and still make good hits. 6 shots off in around 2 - 2.2 seconds.

Frequent practice helps !!

With regards,
357Mag

Carried a S&W Mdl. 28", 6", on duty in the early 60's. That N frame was big & heavy, replaced it with a 4" mdl. 19. Still have the mdl. 19.

Police Chief in the suburban community would not let us carry .357 ammo, had to carry 38 spcl. on duty.
