That brings up a good point.Only thing I can say is that I was there when a friend had primers go off in the tray of a Lee. Lucky it wasn't worse than it was and they might have fixed it since then. I suppose it could happen with any of them that hold a tray of primers but the safety gate, for lack of a better word, left a lot to be desired on his. It's easy to second guess things after something like that and hard to forget.
I've always been happy with my old rcbs hand primer but it takes some effort with newer brass and a bunch to do.
What are they, around 700.00 ouch!Id get a primal rights, screw it to a board them clamp it down
A good handheld is expensive tooWhat are they, around 700.00 ouch!
Sort of related. I had a 209 primer go off on the downstroke of my MEC 9000 410 press. The hull and powder tube directed the flash upwards. Definitely an attention getter. a piece of shot had gotten under the primer. I work a 9000 pretty vigorously and when the hull pushed the primer down onto the piece of shot it went off. I was wearing sturdy prescription glasses. You won’t catch me loading without glasses.Only thing I can say is that I was there when a friend had primers go off in the tray of a Lee. Glad you had on eye protection. We tend to get pretty comfortable loading ammo. It can happen in the blink of a eye.Sort of related. The only way I’d pay $700 for a priming machine is if it came with a cute blonde to operate it!What are they, around 700.00 ouch!
Got my attention! I have 4 9000s but I swear that one has a demon in it. The 410 9000 isn’t a user friendly machine. Wish I had kept my single stage on that one.Glad you had on eye protection. We tend to get pretty comfortable loading ammo. It can happen in the blink of a eye.
I second this. Very happy with mine.I know you said hand primer but I‘ve been using this for years. It might work for ya.
