Any reviews on Starline 6.5 Creedmoor brass?

I see that Starline has small primer 6.5 Creedmoor brass and was wondering if anybody has used it. Is it holding up well? Is it better than the go-to Hornady brass? I'm going to assume that it is not as consistent as Lapua.

Just bought 100 rounds. Going to neck it down for a 6mm Creedmore I'm putting together. Don't know what kind of brass it will be but am planning to find out.

I think I read recently were Layne Simpson used some Starline brass on a 6mm CM vs a 6.5 CM comparison and was fairly impressed with the brass.
Recall it being in a Shooting Times magazine I was reading while waiting for my pedicure.:D

I ordered (250) 6.5 CM large primer Starline brass. Sorted it first by chamber length, base to datum line using Redding Instant Indicator (.308), which worked fairly well. Used 30 of the odd-ball long cases to break in Savage Stealth and work up loads. Initial concentricity was up to .008- but after firing and resizing, most came at or below .002- using Redding Body die and Lee neck die. Am up to 7x reload, and only one primer pocket seems to be losing tension, tho remember, this was used in making up rounds, with higher then recommended loads; the 30 initial pieces are now being used for (2) fouling shots. The Brass is otherwise, holding up nicely. (I only got 9 reloads from Lapua in .308 using above method.)- Haven't yet really checked out how well neck tension is holding up, but will get a "Lee Collet Neck Sizer Die Undersize Mandrel 262 Diameter." Using Starline Brass, (cheap) Barnes Match Burner Bullets and H4451, shot .35 MOA @ 300 yards first day at that range; (4/5 = .125 MOA), USING LEAD SLED.

Just checked neck tension on 10 (7x fired) prepped cases, using Sinclair 6.5mm Expander Mandrel. --2 of 10 were loose, other 8 were really good- better then Lapua .308 after 7x.

I think the "6.5 guys" did a video review of the starline brass that was pretty darn comprehensive. Maybe check youtube or their website.

Yeah, I'll bet!

I hope you guys will try some R#26 with various primers including 215's with some 140-147g bullets, your eyes are going to bug out of your head, faster than R#17 velocities with accuracy. For the guys that hunt short range, the 143 eld-m was doing over 2930-3000 depending on the load, 50g was over 3000, no swiping on the case head or hard bolt lift....give that Star brass a walk on the wild side!

Note: The bullets of the 2 fouling shots were tumbled in HBN; and barrel is cleaned after every group (7 shots total) with BoreTech's Eliminator (about 6 patches + dry patch), then BoreTech Copper remover (about 6 patches, then left sit for 5 min.), followed up with 2 patches with Hoppe's Blast and Shine.
The load of H4451 is a hair over recommended MAX, with the bullet about .01 off lands. To achieve this OAL, i find it necessary to place powder in case, place cases in holder in pan, and slightly vibrate to settle powder. Next year i'll be investing in a 6.5 CM Instant Indicator die, Lapua Brass, and Lapua 136 gr Scenar-L bullets. Wife took away credit cards for the rest of this year, after i bought (in 6.5CM) a Savage Long Range Hunter, Thompson Compass and Savage Stealth, all in July. Prices with rebates were like they were given em away.
Almost forgot to mention that i use a Lee Case trimmer chucked in drill, and a neck turner EVERY RESIZING to help eliminate the DREADED DOUGHNUT.

Just got into two, 50 piece boxes of Starline 6.5 Creedmoor brass, small primer. About the 8th case, primer very hard to seat with Lee Auto prime. Ended up with 6 out of 50 cases either with a primer jammed in half way or unable to seat. Carefully deprimed the failed ones and found my Grafs primer pocket swager. The pockets cleaned up with a twist or two. Just posting this up as information. FWIW I have never had a single bad factory new Lapua, Federal, Winchester, Remington, Norma) or once fired factory ammo primer pocket in over 20 years reloading in thousands of rounds of various cartridge types.
