Any recommendations on digital calipers

I would rather not spend more than 100 or so. I need it to zero with a comparator also. I very read some wont zero like that? I have no brand preferences but would rather stay away from cheap unknown brands. Thanks

Fowler makes decent ones and not break the bank. I sell all the high end ones but own a Fowler and works just fine.IMO

I'm a fan of cheap calipers.

Just look for something that's not a copy of something else.

A caliper that's a copy of an old Mitutoyo is trying to be a copy more than it's trying to be a precision tool.

Look for good reviews too.

I buy mine used on Ebay or sometimes here on this site. Mitutoyo digimatic and they do zero with a comparator.

I use two different Mitutoyo, one is digital the other is dial. I like them both. I bought the digital one, 500-196 and I won the dial at a rifle match several years ago. Mitutoyo makes several different models of the dial caliper as well. Mine is the 6" with the black face, 505-742-56.

If you go with the dial, make sure you look at the face "color". For me the black face and white numbers are very easy to read. The numbers really stand out on the black face. There's several other face colors to choose from.

If you go with the Mitutoyo dial caliper, look on Amazon and you will be able to see the different color faces.

+1, and they do zero out for use with the headspace comparators.

I had one of them Pearl Harbor Freight POS's. It worked - until it didn't - which wasn't very long. I would NEVER trust one of them to produce ammo. Or anything else for that matter
