Any one there use this for cleaning lead

Sorry for asking another cleaning question . Just got into shooting hard cast bullets and with shooting comes cleaning. Always used the good old reliable Hoppes#9 solvent and when I get into something new I read up on what works best , I found nothing better then the Birchwood Casey cloth that you cut up , looked into a liquid cleaner other then #9 and Has Anyone Tried Sharp Shooter NO LEAD brushless cleaner?

Try turpentine. It works great. I use it in my 22s and pistols that I shoot cast bullets.

Hard Cast isn't an issue as much as softer boolits, depending on how hard your cast is, depends on the lead left behind. Shooters Choice work ok. My cast doesn't leave much behind. My boolits are 15 BHN, wheel weights. If you really want to clean your barrel well.... Lewis Lead remover.

with hard cast watch your velocities, I also swear by chore boy, use a smaller brush and wrap the chore boy over brush and start scrubbing watch all the lead come out of barrel

Thanks guys for answering , never tried turp. Chore Boy I hear alot about it , will give them a try. I shoot very mild loads so hopefully I'll keep the lead to a minimum, I clean after every range trip 50 rounds every week.
Thanks again for taking the time in answering.

Bore Tech Rim Fire Blend is designed to remove lead and does an excellent job on center fire pistols.

It's non-toxic and odorless. I use it with a Dewey no harm bronze brush and it does an excellent job of removing lead build up.

I shoot a lot of Oregon Trail Laser Cast bullets in moderate loads in my 38 and 357 magnum revolvers. The key to keep leading from becoming problem is to keep the velocity under 1,000 f/s. I can get about 150 to 200 shots without any noticeable loss in accuracy before I have to clean.

With Speer 148 HBWC target loads, I can be at least 500 to 600 shots before I have to clean.

Good old Hoppe's number 9 can work with a bronze brush, it's just take longer and more scrubbing.

Be wary of some the lead remover solvents on the market. Make sure you read and understand the toxicity of these products and take the necessary precautions.

BoreTech Rim Fire Blend , Oderless and non-toxic , Will order . I like trying and different products . I have a shelf full of cleaners I've tried and favored a few , #9 of course , Ballistol is one of my favorites , sometimes cut it with Charcoal lighter fluid . CLF is great for triggers.
I got into hard cast only because there's nothing else to shoot but I'm glad I did . Shooting low velocity , I'm using 2.6 under a cast 148 great. bullet , how low can you go without having the bullet stick in your barrel , longest barrel I'm shooting these in now is 3" so I'm sure I can get away with a light charge .
I clean after shooting , that's just me. Left over from my service time.. Thanks for answering my posts K , will sign off now to order the Bore Tech .

Follow published reloading data and procedures, i.e. Speer, Nosler, Hornady, Lyman, etc. and you won't get into any trouble load wise.

Always check a case that has been charged with powder before you seat the bullet to makes sure you do not have a double charge and you have powder in it. This especially important when using fast burning powders such as Bullseye, 231, etc. in light lead bullet loads because a double charge will easily fit in the case and surely damage the firearm and maybe even the shooter.

I'm careful reloading , I wet tumble so all the cases look brand new inside and out , I load one at a time . Using a primed sized and belled case , I'll charge and seat one at a time and go back and crimp all the cases . Only loading 50 at a time. I do follow the listed charges for the bullet used mostly always at the low end of the scale.
Cowboy Action Shooting is a sport separate from just target shooting . I saw a group shooting and they explained what it was all about , looked like fun but I'm not into dressing up the part . I thought I went back in time , back in the wild wild west . They sure could shoot though.

I ordered ChoreBoy & BoreTech Rimfire Blend Solvent , I shoot on Thursday , it supposed to arrive on Thursday in time to test. We post how it works.

If you have leading problems, blunt and to the point, something is not right!
Hardcast does not keep leading down, correctly. It may hide under lying problems, it doesn’t address them.

I have shot cast in everything from 22Hornet to 458 Lott, along with cartridges in between those. Not necessarily reduced loads either.

If your content with mediocre accuracy carry on.
There is zero reason that cast can not be run up to jacketed speed in any pistol with zero leading and stellar accuracy.
“Full length gas checks” as some folks call jacketed are pretty easy to get decent results. Addressing issues with the gun to make them shoot cast bullets with no issues, more times than not will help jacketed as well.

Turpentine, I have heard of a lot of uses for it, that is a first for leading.

I just got into shooting hard cast bullets , I'm not having leading problems probably because I shoot 50 rounds a clean , I just want to clean with the right solvent , you wouldn't buy a copper solvent when Shooting lead and visa versa. Asking questions I've learned a lot from others experiences. Very Helpful Advise I received here. Thanks Guys.

There are some fabric patches on the market that will grip lead and pull it out of a barrel. There is also a formula for making lead removal patches at home. The core of it seems to be treating sturdy patches with a material such as Bon Ami cleaner. The cleaner gives the patch a very grabby texture that really pulls the lead out. I believe the main ingredient is diatomaceous earth. Clean well with a couple of solvent patches and you're ready to relead your barrel.

I got a year on you , anyway , I also use the Lewis removal system on my 29 8 3/8" barrel , used mostly Hoppes#9 shooting JHP. With my short barreled 357 & 38's , 3 and 2" barrels aren't collecting that much lead in length , so I was looking into different lead only solvents being I'll be shooting only cast in them. I got the Sharp Shooters No Lead , also ordered the BoreTech Rimfire Lead Blend and the ChoreBoy Copper pad to wrap pieces around a worn cleaning brush . I like trying things to see what works best , then shit can the rest . I also like Ballistol but wife hates , hates the smell , had to say it twice that's how much she hates it , go figure and it works great " Out Side"

The cloth that works best of ALL is the Birchwood Casey Lead Remover , you cut it in your patch size and it turns lead build up like cream and it just wipes off , if you have stainless steel guns it will remove the burn marks the same way. The cloth is around 6 bucks , would be going through a lot of them if I used it as my primary cleaner , but I'll tell you nothing cleans lead better. I use it mostly on cylinder face and if 38 build up in a 357 cylinder.
