Any interest in heavy 20 cal bullets?

We should encourage Blaine Leisy to make more of his 55 grain Poly-Tip Rebated Boat Tail bullets:

He can be reached at blackholebullets@gmail.com but remember your rifle should be an 8-Twist or better...

What do those run price wise?

I'd love to see a 50grn V-Max or Blitz-King,actually I've been hoping for one for a very long time.I've spoken to people from Sierra and Hornady in person about
this a few years back and the general consensus is that until a factory rifle has a 9 twist we won't see any heavier poly tipped bullets.I like the 55Berger in my
20 Dasher, but I would prefer to use a 50 grn poly tipped bullet for long distance p.d.'s because the extra speed and the b.c. should best the Berger in my opinion
as far as killing p.d.'s goes.
I think Savage is our best bet as far as getting someone to build a fast twist rifle goes. They already understand, just look at their offerings in .223/.22-250/6BR :)

Thought this link from 06 was interesting.
While not about heavy 20's it does show some of Max's early
20 caliber bullets.

I would think when things calm down you will see the Berger 50 and 55s available again at some point. They simply stated the current agenda is so madning that they are discontinuing for the time being in a effort to keep up. Berger has kinda always been the one to come forward in the small niche market first. It is all about accuracy. Now that the evil witch Fienstein has been shot down in flames! For now anyway in 6 monthes I think we will see a different market. I bet there are some big credit card bills out there that need to be paid, all the buying that was done. If I could just receive the Tubb Precision DTAC boron nitrate coated pills I ordered 7 weeks ago I would be set. I could finish my 243 build. I have a decent stock of 50 Bergers and 40 for my 9 twist 204. Now if I had a Prarie poodle trip planed I would be cuttin it close. I was planning to go poopdleing in CO for a couple days this year. Not now they can keep there gun control state, Im not spending a dime there!

Got some of the Black Hole bullets in both 55gr rebated and 45gr cup base can't wait to try them out also got some 62gr Unmissigs to try but I don't think a 9 twist will stabilize them

20-250 with 62gr on left, 20-250 with 55gr middle and 20br with 45gr right

Out of curiosity, just how many actual (no estimates) rounds are you getting from a fast twist 20 cal barrel, shooting heavy bullets, either with a BR or Dasher case? I would like to compare your results to the barrel life of my 20 Practical. THANKS

Mine are too new to tell yet with less than 200 rounds down my 20br barrel the throat still looks very good and my 20-250 only has about 60 rounds down and since I built it just for a coyote gun it should last me for a long long time around here.
The 20br is one of my groundhog guns so probly will also last a while but I would like to think I will get 1500 rounds out of them that may be high but like I said they don't see that much shooting around here

I have a 1 in 9 20BR throated for Berger 50s, about 600-700 down the tube and barrell still shoots .2s. I do download it though using N150 to about 3500fps.

Most of the time against vermin I use 39gr SBKs, shoot.4/.5 but sub 300 yards thats good enough for most things.

For foxes over 250 yards then I like to use the Berger 50, I have killed foxes to just short of 300 yards with the 39gr but at that sort of distance the 50 has a bit less drift and a bit more energy. Once I run out of 50s then I will try 55s.
