Any guesses on how "long" it takes for a flintlock pistol to actually FIRE???

Take a single stroke pneumatic .177 pistol, barrel time for a max of about 550fps, you best follow through. (Shoot THROUGH the shot)
The "click....boom" above, even more so. Thanks for the vid. :)

Now think of using one of the old flintlock rifles for BR shooting? Think you could hold steady enough?

A friend of mine has built, and shoots, flintlocks. He attends a school up in Appalachia for a week or so each year and builds his rifles at the school. It is hosted by a couple of brothers (House? maybe). Although I have not had the pleasure of shooting any of his rifles he showed me videos of several different of his/buddy's rifles being fired. I was floored at the incredibly fast lock times on these rifles. I forget which lock they used (a Chambers perhaps) but it was further refined by the instructors. The brothers would hand forge the barrels and a lot of the parts and most metal work was done by hand.

I think the video shows an average to below average lock as they certainly get much quicker than that.
