Any bird experts out there?

And, ... I'm going again tomorrow or Saturday! I only do half days any more. My son and his friend took me out for a full day last month. When I got home and sat down with a beer, it felt like I got hit by a train!

We flew five coveys (maybe four with a repeat) in three hours. I shot six times and nary a feather. I am ashamed to admit that and will never admit it again!
Nothing to be ashamed of when hunting Chuckars,if I get a chance to sluice one I will(it is called revenge ) Sounds like you found plenty of birds?

The number of birds is hit and miss, ... so far. We need some moisture and snow to concentrate them a bit. It's so dry Zeubul (my 8th Brit) is having mixed results (he bumped at least one covey yesterday). I'd say this is an average year so far, ... could get really good if we can get some weather. But, I'll pass on what you' all are gettin' back east!

Loved hunting them in the High Sierras in CA. many moons ago. To locate them we would cup a .50 piece in one palm and hit it in the center with another .50 piece. It almost sounds like chukar calling. They would respond! That wasn't even half the battle!!

I have never heard that before, be hard to find two fifty cent pieces that are real now. Maybe pawnshop? I'm going to try it though

Thinking of hitting Nevada/eastern Oregon next week. Like you say hot and dry for this time of year

Never gave that a thought when I posted. But, I'm not sure if they were silver coins or not. This was in the late 70's so maybe not sliver.
