Any 10m Air Rifle Shooters?

While I am overseas for a couple years I was searching for ANY trigger time to keep up my skills. I found a 10m air rifle training center. I have to say, I a surprised how much I enjoy shooting it. The difficulty level is appealing and satisfying.

Any 10m air rifle shooters here? My quick google searches for matches in the states in especially the east coast was pretty non-existent for adults. What I did find was for juniors only. Pretty crappy scenario...

Hopefully I am just not looking in the right places.

There is a club here in Pa, Three Valley Sportsmen that runs a winter 10m league. It is spring guns only, off the bench with a front rest but nothing under the rear it is shot off the shoulder. Here in Blair county I run a 20 meters indoor spring gun bench match the fourth Sat of the month. Front and rear bags/ rest ok. We get about a dozen shooters. Both ranges limit scope to 24x. There is a half dozen of us who shoot most mornings. It's very competitive. If you can shoot a .177 inside s baby aspirin at 20 meters your good to go. No PCPs. Go back through t.he competition pages looking for Central Pa Airguns.

There are a fair amount of opportunities to compete in air rifle throughout the year if you're willing to travel for most of them. First off, I'd recommend contacting your state's Shooting Association, or a neighboring state's, to find out what Open Air competitions they hold. There could be State Championships or NRA Open Air Sectionals near you. Some Open Air matches I can think of off the top of my head are:

Pardini Grand Prix @ X Count in Fort Wayne, IN (10 days ago)
2024 Olympic Trials @ Fort Benning, GA in late September (USA Shooting)
Dixie Double @ Anniston, AL CMP Center in early November (USAS/CMP)
Walther Cup @ WV University in mid to late November
Winter Air Gun Championships @ OTC in Colorado Springs, CO in early to mid December (USAS)
USAS National Championships @ Fort Benning, GA in June (USAS)
CMP Air Rifle National Championships @ Port Clinton, OH CMP Center in mid July (USAS/CMP)
USAS Monthly PTO Match @ OTC in Colorado Springs, CO (USAS)
CMP Monthly Matches @ both CMP Centers in Port Clinton, OH and Anniston, AL (CMP)

Thanks, I am looking for 10m standing, not bench.

I don't compete, but I really like shooting my 22 cal PCP air rifle. Started with a break barrel springer then soon moved on to a PCP rifle. PCP is my favorite by far. No comparison. So accurate, zero recoil, super quiet, 10 round magazine, and super easy to load the next pellet without leaving your shooting position.

5 shot group at 53 yards with Barracuda match pellets. Those are 1" grid squares on the paper and the center white bullseye circle is 1/2" in diameter. It will repeat this accuracy every day. Extremely consistent accuracy.

Lots of 10m air rifle as well as smallbore 3-P shooting all over, you just have to dig around to find them. Yes, most of the organized matches will be designed for juniors to compete but some of them are open to anyone. Check out the Target Talk forum.

Likewise, if you love off-hand shooting but in a less formal / more friendly atmosphere then you need to get into Metallic Silhouette! There are versions for air rifle, smallbore, high power, and lever action rifles with monthly matches held all over.

The North American Silhouette Shooting Association is a great place to start.
The Rifle Silhouette channel on YouTube has great introduction and goings-on videos to check out as well.

I've been shooting 10M for about 10 years now. It's the perfect trigger and position trainer for the other stuff I shoot. I branched off of that, and began shooting 10M Air Pistol, and 50M Free Pistol about 8 years ago - I shoot both air disciplines in my basement during the winter months here in NoVa. Our International Pistol Matches are run at my club from Sept.-March, and then we pick back up with rifle.

Any luck with 10m rifle at IWLA for adults? I'm a member, but it appears it's all geared toward HS students. They have open practices on M and F though.

I know that Air Pistol welcomes adults. I do not know about Air Rifle. As a member, I would think you could just 'show up' on open evenings and practice?
