how did you determine the speed of wind ?

I carry a small wind meter when I'm out hunting when it's breezy. I can estimate wind pretty good when I don't have it on me also.

You are a wild man SPJ!!!!!!! Never hunted speed goats, but would like to one day. The OP says he couldn't close the distance....looks like to me at 462 yards he didn't need to!!!! Great shot on a fine animal sir!!! I have a pretty nice shooting 240 Weatherby, if I can get one within 100 yards I think I might be able to get a hit......
