ant problem

One my mom used to use was a mix of peanut butter and Boric Acid powder (should be available from a drug store.) Mix together and leave it where the ants can get to it. They take it back to the nest and feed on it, and the BA does its thing.

Bayer Tempo SC works well. Mix and spray a barrier around foundation, steps, door entry, garage entry etc. A light spray when dry is safe around farm animals, pets, and approved around food prep areas. Will kill most crawling insects for several months per application. You will see them dead on your porch and sidewalk entry for quite some time after use.

I would not overdo it in yard, as some bugs are beneficial. Just use in entry paths to house.

Get perimeter spray so more don't join them and ant buttons work good. Another old trick is borax mixed with some confectioners sugar and shake it in a bag so it coats the borax and they will take it back to their friends to eat and they die. The only thing is if you have pets that can get under your crawl space because it will kill them too. So please be careful.

Best spider spray that there ever was!

Maybe it is just me, but I had ants show up real bad a year ago at my house and after fighting them for a few months I discovered termites. They got in and damaged the house in two places. When we had the place treated they found termites completely around the entire house in the ground. Termite folks said "they were set to destroy your house".
Caution on the ants...have your home inspected, ants can be a sign of worse. Once the place was treated I saw no more ants. Don't get me wrong, I like to save as much money as possible too, but when it comes to things like ants and termites I don't think you want to rely on home remedies.

Chickens.. They eat em up
Thats a win/win. Chickens eat the ants, then you fry the chicken.

The other recourse is a product called Bifiden from Do It Yourself
pest control. Its pet and food safe, inside/outside. It has a long lasting
residual effect. I Have used it for yrs. It works. LDS

Boric Acid, a refined version of Borax is available at any home improvement store is safe for pets and people and will do the job. It's in a powdered/crystalline form and will spread easily around the foundation. I put it both outside along the foundation as well as inside the home, in the pantry corners along the floor. Kills roaches and silverfish too.

I put up a new shed in the back yard and soon found carpenter ants had taken up residence in the walls. I put down Boric Acid on the floor and in the corners and quickly found many dozens of them dead on the floor two days later. Haven't had a problem since.
