Are the Criterion Remage barrels threaded for a standard Remington thread? what I want to know is if the receiver threads have been enlarged from truing, will the barrel be loose or will it still pull up tight and shoot consistent?

Pre-fit barrels are made to fit standard factory thread specs. Pre-fits are made on a production basis, the next one to be the same as the last. Over sized is a 'custom' condition, done one at a time to meet the specs of the receiver the barrel is being installed on. Using the nut, the barrel may "pull up tight",,,,,, but loose threads are NOT a safe condition or conductive to accuracy. Think of it this way,, every time a round is fired there's a high pressure "tug of war" happening. The bolt wants to push back and the barrel wants to move forward. I want a proper barrel to receiver thread fit. It's only common sense.johnfred1965 said:Are the Criterion Remage barrels threaded for a standard Remington thread? what I want to know is if the receiver threads have been enlarged from truing, will the barrel be loose or will it still pull up tight and shoot consistent?
