Last night just before dark, I always look out towards the river couple thousand acres back there, tons of game , I see a yote sneaking along the river tracking something, all I have is the Tikka T1x 22 by the bedroom, the 17 hornet is locked up. The Tikka is loaded with 22 CCI Velocitors and it's a tack driving machine, I couldn't get a clean head shot because of lighting conditions and snowing like jell? I took a lung shot and he spun and run out of sight, this can happen with 22's however a lung shot is a dead coyote. This morning 8 inches of snow , no tracks to follow, however my Czech import female German Shepard ,Karma has a fantastic nose this line is well re-knowned for their olfactory expertise. She tracked the yote south of the house about 125 yards in less than 1 minute he was completely snow covered, we pulled him out shook him off and done. Two hawks were eating on him a couple hours later.Shot placement was superb,CCI Velocitor @ 1435 fps,best 22 round inmo out there.
