Well it seems like every time I truly like a finished stock I've done.....
Something goes horribly wrong in shipping.
As customer recieved itIMG951284.jpg IMG951281.jpgI just recieved stock back today for repair.
I stand behind my work, NEVER in front of it as I've either painted a car or a rifle stock.
Prepped for primer, 20190801_111947.jpgused my stripping brush to apply simtech's polyester primer. With any luck this will block out and be getting re sprayed tomorrow evening.
I'll keep you posted....20190801_121948.jpg

Day 2...
Yesterday I blocked the primer after only 6 hours of dry time. Simtech recommends 24 hours, but I like to see how far I can push things. Rushed on another coat of primer and let it set until this morning.
Blocked out beautifully!20190802_083947.jpg 20190802_084147.jpg 20190802_084110.jpg 20190802_084025.jpgafter prep is done and bedding is masked, I'm thinking I'll fog a lil bit of black candy over the green edge of repair with my airbrush before going to orange candy.

It's sad you pay so much for shipping , then it ends up damaged.... Everytime I order something I wait to see if it shows up undamaged.....

What's sad is I really stepped up my packaging after the 1st stock was damaged.
Now I'm looking into different packaging to improve on what I'm already doing.
The down side is I'm going to have to pass those costs along to the customer, or quit painting gun stocks.
Eating one of these paint jobs sucks, but the customer paid for a painted stock and I mean to deliver him one.
Pass the salt n pepper please!

I sent an XP100 stock USPS, wrapped in bubble wrap and wrapped that in bubble wrap and packed the box with those air bag thingys. Box was punctured and crushed on one end. Buyer told me good thing I used all that bubble wrap and packing. It was undamaged. Sometimes I think there's an oversize basketball net in some of these shipping venues.

I’d be willing to pay extra for shipping options.
USPS has tried to destroy almost every thing I’ve shipped.
