Another Government Encroachment on our Shooting.

Several years ago Camp Lejeune implemented caliber restrictions on civilian rifle matches held on their ranges. Recently Camp Butner has implemented caliber restrictions (no 300 Win Magnums) on that range. I asked the President of the North State Shooting Club (john Skowron) if the Range was going to restrict the Military from shooting 300 Win Mags and 338 Lapua Magnums that are being used by our troops for Long Range operations. I also asked if they were prohibiting the firing of the 50 BMG. John said he would inquire and that was an interesting question. Is this another way the Obama administration is working behind the scenes to restrict our shooting? Under the guise there is not enough backstop range for these calibers.

Camp Grayling instituted caliber restrictions a few years ago. The restrictions are enforced for both military and civilian use.

I cannot speak to the exact reason why this particular range has instituted these restrictions. And Lord knows, I don't think very much about that Pinhead in the White House and am sure he'd do anything if he thought he could. But fact is, many ranges (both military and civilian) have instituted restrictions on calibers over the past few years because of complaints coming from instances of high caliber rifles emitting shock waves (effecting other shooters nearby in a variety of ways) and plain STUPID STUNTS leading to safety concerns (or even injuries). Bottom line, shooters themselves have created the restrictions, not to mention legal concerns. So as usual, the actions of a few (just like the good old Democrats and Gun Control nut cases) have once again been applied to all and we suffer, even though we never did a damn thing wrong.
