My issue has been resolved thanks to a couple of very nice people. Thank you to all who responded! It is much appreciated!
Thank you for that information bobeager. Make no mistake that I was asking only about legal ways of getting the part. I would not want anyone to do anything that would get them in trouble. It's the same in the Us. You don't mess with the ATF (dept of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms). Take careThe attached link may go some way to explain why Aussies are reluctant to help you out.
A Trigger Mechanism is a Firearm Part and subject to Import/Export controls.
In Australia, if you are licenced for the Category of Firearm you want, you can purchase once you have the Permit as above. You can buy a trigger or firearm parts as long as they have been imported legally.
The thing is, Over here, if you break the rules, the Police will confiscate your Licence and your firearms.
Basically, bolt action rifles (rimfire and centerfire), and NON self loading shot guns we have little problem owning.
However, Semi Auto Anything needs special permit.
Handguns are much more strictly controlled.
You must demonstrate a "Genuine Reason" to get a Firearms Licence, usually Target Shooting / Hunting / Collecting.
"SELF DEFENCE" is a BIG NO NO.
