I've been working with Annie for most of the summer, with her 257 Roberts that I promised to give to her if she would pass the NYS hunter safety course, and then shoot a deer with it this year.
I got her shooting a Marlin Papoose 22 rim fire when she was only 12 years old, and when she shot a small bird with it, she kinda backed off shooting for a few years.
Then last year when her brothers both shot nice deer with rifle I had built for them she perked back up again and said she would like to do that too... So enters the 257 Roberts with it's low recoil and deer killing ability that I figured she could handle.
She is really getting the hang of this shooting stuff, but then she has always been good at whatever she sets her mind to, (well maybe not cooking)...
She came up today to double check that her 257 Roberts was still spot on, and shot it at 200 yards.
Thats as far as she will be able to shot out of my condo, so she did 2 shots at 100 yards and was spot on, so I moved the target out to 200 yards and turned her loose.. She is a hell of a trigger puller !!!!!!!!!!
The 200 yard target speaks for itself..
I had my new 338 Ultra Mag on the bench when she showed up, and after shooting her rifle she asked me about the Blue gun, and if she could shoot it.. When I showed her the cartridge, she got a little big eyed and said, "I'll shoot it once"
Well, she ended up shooting the last three 250 SMK's I had loaded for it, and did I mention that girl can shoot !!!!
3 shots at 200 yards, with a rifle most guys don't want any part of....
