I got Annies new 257 Roberts up and running a month ago and yesterday was the first chance she has had to shoot it. I worked up a good load with H-4350 and 100 gr Hornadys when the temps were in the 70's, yesterdays heat in the 90's had them sticking a little so she only shot a few times to get the feel of it..
She had in on paper in 2 shots, and then I tweaked the scope a little and she put the last 2 in under a 1/2" @ 100 yards. Pretty darn good shooting for a 16 year old that had never fired a center fire before..
The Roberts was a present for passing her hunter safety with a 99 score...........

She saw your rifle while it being rebuilt Stephen, and wanted no part of your 25/284, just a bit more recoil than she wanted to deal with 'O)

Annie Oakley for sure... Dead deer coming this fall, set the kid up n the deer condo & bang!!! one shot = sausage in the freezer.. My hat's off to you Sir!!

Get off the computer & take the kid to the lake Preacherman........ ;)

Bruce,is this your daughter? If it is,then I say she has your talent to get the job done. Good for you,my daughter used to hunt, but had to give up do to motherly responsibility.

Very nice. I love taking the kids shooting and the grad kids will be up soon enough. Beautiful rifle and I bet she was more than pleased.

That's great preacher man. My daughter is 6 now and I built her a 6br marbled ruby red :). My boy turns 4 next wk. his stock is in primer and the barrel is next to the lathe waiting for us to decide. This makes me think of a time when we can enjoy shooting sports together. Not sure when to start them. When did Annie start rim fire? Looks like she had fun.

She got her Marlin Papoose when she turned 8 and a old 410 SS that I restocked for her when she turned 12...
Her and both brothers kinda adopted me as a fill in dad because the father was a long haul trucker and never had the time to devote to them because of that. Both boys shot good bucks with there first rifles, and I can only assume Annie will do the same.. She listens to me way better than the boys do about gun stuff, and life in general.. It must be a chick thing 'O)
