Annealing made perfect

ANNEALING MADE PERFIC. AZTEC SORT
Guys this changes everything. This is one of the greatest things ever invented for a competition shooter. This takes us into the 22nd Century. I always thought the machine was something every competition shooter that Anneals should use. This takes it 10 steps forward.
This is just as important as is a $2000 scope.
This was the greatest thing at the shot show this year. I called and asked President Trump to put it in his speech...he called this morning and said he had forgotten and he was sorry!

What exactly does Aztec mode do?
Need to find the video that describes it. My take is it analyses the brass in the same fashion that their service offers, wastes a pc of brass, but no longer have to send brass to them. The machine itself will give you your customized settings for your brass.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

They test with a microhardness testing unit. The AMP AZTEC mode would use some other modality to infer brass properties. Speculation beyond that is above my pay grade.

How could you imagine, produce and beta test a product that now all of the sudden is able to analyze temperature ratings a year after it was released?

I like your train of thought!
How could after 8 mos the could auto trickler system now utilize a powder thrower in conjunction with the triclker?
How after yrs of producing actions at a certain price can companies now produce budgie actions at the fraction of cost and be gooder than the originals.

Wait and see. Until the patent is issued, I doubt you will learn exactly how. You may have to be satisfied by seeing that it works.

There's also a "brass sorting function" mentioned lacking any details.

ETA: Seeing the next post, apparently there are some details available lol.

What exactly does Aztec mode do?

1. It gives the ability (via a sacrificial case) for the annealer to determine the correct annealer program for your case.
  • they don't specify how (not surprising since it's being patented), though my guess is that it's based on data correlation between their library of manually tested cases and their ability to measure a change (induction reading or something?) of the brass as it is annealed. They must have found a very strong correlation...
2. It gives the ability to sort cases - this has been confirmed (on FB) to be based on the mass present in the portion of the case visible to the annealer. I.E. - it detects the difference in mass between a turned/unturned case for example. It has been described that even slightly changing the pilot (backing it out a fraction of a thread) will cause the results change. It's that sensitive.

Almost any consistency gains to case necks is a "win, win" and worthy. If the "Sort feature" can directly attribute would be very innovative. I applaud AMP for there advancements in annealing technology, and like Lou, believe Aztec "Sort" to be a game changer, taking annealing to a higher level.
Below from the AMP Facebook page, a video describing the "Sort" feature. And as quoted from AMP:
"Its sorting by the mass of the brass in the area inserted into the machine."
