Annealing brass

depends upon the cartridge.

Every 3 or 4 firings for .308.
Every 2 or 3 firings for 6 Comp. Match, 30-06 Ackley, 7 Dakota, 7 WSM, 338 LM

To get the most out of the answers you are receiving you should know how those answering are using their brass. For hunting once every third firing may be appropiate, Benchrest shooters may do it after each firing.

What is your inteneded use?

To be a little more specific. I anneal after ever firing an all my brass. Whether hunting or bench gun. I noticed a difference in bullet seating force and shoulder bump in as little as two firings so I just decided to do it every time. I also use a torch and electric screw driver with the aid of a metronome on an IPad. It's somewhat therapeutic for me.

I shoot 22 BR, 6 BR, 6 Dasher and 30 BR. Anneal after every firing.
It is just so easy with my Benchsource. 50 case 10 minutes.
After I finish a relay, I brush inside necks and clean outside necks
with a crazy cloth and wipe with clean hand towel. Just before
annealing, I spray alcohol on a clean hand town and wipe again.
I can tell seating difference if I skip the annealing.

I anneal after every firing. Its just too much to keep track of if I do it less frequently, and I do like having all of my brass the same every time I load it. As others have mentioned I do notice a seating force difference if I don't anneal.

I just received my Annie Induction Annealer a few days ago from Garett at Fluxeon. I have never annealed brass before and didn't want to start with an open flame method. I put Tempilaq 750 on a couple of cases to set the number of seconds on the unit for annealing the neck. I just did 50 300WSM cases in a few minutes. Slick as owl doodoo. Pricey but I would buy it again.

Put a socket in a drill that lowly fits the size of your case. Rotate case by turning on drill and hold in flame for the annealing. Dump the case out of the socket and load another. Repeat.

I think Joe R said it best. Just be careful with the heat. watch the case for a bluish tint to appear on the neck and shoulder. If they get hot enough to glow red, you are cooking the zinc out of the brass alloy.

I just recieved my Annealeeze set up for $275. This unit is well made and adjustable. I am thinking that no other annealing product on the market makes better results for the price than this unit. The giraud is good but this works as well for far less coin.
I got the burned fingers to give evidence that adjusting is tricky. Get your tempilac from brownells since it is cheaper than Amazon.
