Annealer

Any suggestions on an annealer that won't break the bank? I don't want a piece of junk, but don't wanna spend a ton. Don't know what price range that falls into.

I want it for precision hunting loads and about 5000 pieces of once fired 5.56 that will be bulk storage.

Appreciate advice.

does annealing improve accuracy?
My personal experience is, it depends. I found that when shooting brass that had a identical number of resizing's it made no difference. However when I mixed brass with various number of reloading's the groups tended to open up and develop fliers. This was a small test of 60 rounds and in no way scientific but it was was enough to convince me to always anneal. It makes sense when you consider what annealing does to the elastic/plastic properties of the brass but again just my opinion.

In regard of the OP, I owned a Annealeze for a number of years and my only complaint was the plastic wheels tended to melt when annealing more than 25 or 30 shorter cases such as 6.5 Grendel and 6BR. I went
through two sets of the "short case" wheels before replacing it because I shoot a lot of 6BR and Grendel. It worked great with .308 and .223 and a friend of mine who mostly shoots .223 only is still using it with the original longer wheel set.

If I were buying today I would look for a machine that does not use plastic wheels such as the Ugly Annealer or the EPS which others have provided links to

I find annealing takes the work hardening out of the case necks. Bullet seating is smoother with reduced neck tension and CBTO is more consistent. I just use a drill, extension, socket, over a butane torch.
