Amazon order…..one has to wonder!

I am a big believer in preventing government from dictating what a given business can sell and who they can sell it to. Jeff Bezos can sell all the nipple rings, skinny jeans and dildos he wants to whomever he wants. He also happens to sell some stuff I consume like fishing gear. For firearms I go to people who specialize in firearms. I'm OK with the choices he makes and the choices I make. The alternative is a slippery slope.

I like Amazon because I can order shooting accessories , scopes, rings, cleaning supplies etc and get them fast with no shipping charges.

Now tell me about the nipple rings.

as an independent minded guy , Im all for everybody being able to make their own choices as long as they arent illegal.

I knew -- thats about wat it would take for me to become a prime member though. even though i dont buy much from amazon anymore its still a great referance i use often

I’m not a Prime member so I don’t pay anything. I get free shipping on most orders over $35. Usually 3 days.

And never buy airgun pellets there because you’ll get an oversized box with loose tins of pellets smashing around the inside.

I buy my pellets from Pyramid Air. They know how to package pellets.

I have been buying most things from other companies lately. but dont alot of small companies sell on amazon? i dont know how that works.

I just remember the better days when people would put on their better clothes and go to town and make an effort to be a part of society.

A lot of small companies and some not so small. Amazon sells pretty much all of the RCBS standard products but are actually just providing the logistics service - for a substantial percentage of the price. Since I live close to a major distribution center I can order a set of RCBS dies from Amazon and have them sitting on my porch at 8AM the next morning. If I order in the morning I can frequently get same day delivery - order at 10 AM and get delivery by 3 or 4 PM if the price is $25 or more. I could order from my LGS, pay more money and wait at least a week but I never do that.

I really don't know how much I pay for Amazon Prime but it's worth every penny. I drink a 12 ounce can of V8 juice almost every day. Amazon's price for a 24 pack of V8 is 35% less than the closest competitor which is Walmart. And Thursday evening I can watch the Steelers-Browns game thanks to Amazon...

sounds like it works out good for you Dave. That is good. They built a new distribution center 35 miles from me and just shut it down. Dont know wats up with that.

Prime is $14.99 a month or $139.00 for a year. I use amazon a lot as I cannot get it locally or pay up the nose at the local stores, so it works for me.

If you shop carefully, you can still buy from those mom & pop shops right through Amazon. Its a marketplace now, look for the "ships from" on item description. Sure Amazon takes a cut, but that small shop now has nearly infinite reach of customer base. I just received some used books I got off Amazon (which at its core is still a book seller primarily) but found them coming from independent shops. I may have paid a few bucks more, but I do have a Prime Visa CC and get 5%-10% back on everything so it usually works out the same in the end.

i understand that- i live in a town with less than that- 1 grocery store -ect- no walmart costco or target --not much of the shooting stuff i use is available in the whole county. i have to order almost everything. I go directly to the vendors sites most of the time. i really should keep better track of the shipping $ i spend. I do use amazon as a pricing service -- i notice some things on amazon are available for better prices or at least equal other places
