amazon-- UPDATE Success at reaching customer service

A couple of our mail carriers have thrown packages on the ground because they are too lazy to drive 150' up to the house. (good driveway and no dogs so there isn't any excuse). One of the packages for a neighbor was medicine and he's 84 years old. If it happens, go directly to the local post master and raise he--. If that doesn't work, go to the next up the ladder. No results?, get the local TV news involved.
good advice --usually at least they lean them somewhere against the house--- sometimes if i happen to leave the garage door open they put them in there and then its harder to notice them among the clutter:rolleyes: thanks.

I buy very little from Amazon. The most important thing to be is cost to my door. 90% or more of the time, Amazon is not the lowest cost. Shop around first. Ebay usually has better prices on almost everything. And Ebay will stand behind your purchase if there is a problem. I also try to use Paypal for all online purchases because they protect the consumer. Over the years I've had several items not delivered but I've never lost a penny.
yes i agree with all this. at least ebay has the resoulution center-- i use paypal more and more for the reason you say- also because i dont have to send a check with my account # through the mail. Thanks

yes ive had a post office box for years. i send everything i can to it so things arent laying around out on the porch until i find them. and like you say i have the record of the delivery. some stuff though they wont ship to the po box- gotta go to physical address. some companies just have a policy not to ship anything to a po box. when i purchased a stock from stockys they even called and said" we have to much trouble with the usps to ship your stock through them " i havent had anything lost by USPS but sometimes it takes a Long time---Thanks. PS i dont have one of those mailbox places near me--if i did i think id get a box there to

If you have a USPS PO Box, you can sign up for free street address service so FedEx, UPS can make deliveries to a physical address (which is your post Office).

https://postalpro.usps.com/competitivepoboxes

You can ask about it next time you are at the post office to see if they offer it at your PO box location....

hoz,
Yes, the advantage of the private mail box (UPS, Mailboxes, etc, postal annex, etc) is that they are a physical address and they accept from all carriers including friends and relatives who drop things off.

OP,
I'd just dispute the credit card charge and let them call me. --Jerry

yeah id get one of those boxes but we dont have a store with them around here. mabie i should open one up.

Bought a laptop battery from Amazon in February. Now it won't hold a charge. Had an online chat with them. It took maybe 10 minutes, probably more like 5. They sent me a return tag to return my battery for credit. It was a no BS deal.

I ordered a microphone from them. It was around Christmas time. That was probably a mistake. USPS lost it. Tracking showed delivered. It wasn't. Or, the stoner USPS person delivered it to the wrong house, which has happened more than once. Same thing, short online chat, and 2 days later a replacement microphone at my door. It was a no BS deal.

I ordered a cheap guitar from them that I was hoping to use for a camping guitar. It was $200. I wasn't expecting much. When I got it, it was even less than I expected. The neck was warped so bad you couldn't play it. No need for a chat. I went online and processed a return. They paid to ship it back and issued credit. It was a no BS deal.

Say what you want about them, but I have never had trouble getting them to take care of something. I have never had trouble getting in touch with someone. I can name a lot of other places that I can't make that claim about.

they take care of business thats for sure youll get no argument with me about that but it sure was hard to find out how to contact them. when i typed customer service in the product search box they tried to sell me a book about how to contact Amazon--thats a classic isnt it

#1-- how about they dont make a profit and so pay no taxes but they drive other tax paying businesses out of business so they dont help support our country they just take from it.

In all efforts to keep this from turning political, Amazon has made profits for 11 straight quarters. As far as they’re tax practices, there is not a single company, corporation, LLC, or garage business that enjoys paying taxes. They found a way around it for now, it’ll catch up sooner or later just like internet sales tax. Regardless of how any of us feel about the CEO personally, he is successful and his company is successful.

If I'm reading their income statement correctly - shows a profit for the past 4 years and paid over $3.2 billion in income tax.

okay but like you say im taking the admins advice and just saying no to political stuff here. i should have not allowed myself to get dragged into it in the first place and ill try not to from here on. im not gonna argue about anything here period

usps, fedx, ups,,all show up at my door,,and I have the phone numbers for all my carriers,

Can we confirm if amazon is a site sponsor?

If you click on the Amazon tab at the top of the page, and then purchase something from them, the site gets some money.

I don't think that makes them a sponsor.
