Am I on track with prepping 6 Dasher brass?

So I got a reamer on order to do my 6 Dasher.

I am thinking of doing a hydro die, but if I were to do it via fireforming would this be an okay process?

Do a light neck cleanup on virgin 6 BR brass about 0.250-.260" down the neck. This will get me around the neck/shoulder junction of fireformed 6 Dasher brass. Then, fireform using the Jam-N-Shoot method or False shoulder methods.

Or do most people do the cleanup after fireforming?

I actually cleanup the entire 6br neck then hydro or fire form. No donuts that way.

I do not cut into the shoulder of 6 br brass when doing dashers though.

^ Me too. Turn all the way down and let the transition fall on the shoulder. (Thanks Donovan)

I do things a little differently than most though. Since I am expanding to 25cal to form a false shoulder anyway, I go ahead and expand the necks to 25cal and turn necks there. My reasoning is that it is more likely to iron out any dents or at least put the imperfections in neck wall thickness to the outside where I can chop 'em off. I'm not sure how much better, if at all, than turning at 24 cal, but it makes sense to me so I do it.

I thought about turning the neck all the way to the base of the 6 BR brass. I might do that instead.

If I decide to do the false shoulder method, then I might turn them at 25 cal instead, then size the portion down to 6mm.

Theres lots of ways of doing it. I turn all the way down as a 6BR, then use 3 thou tension and a 30 thou jam and just shoot em off. Accuracy is great for 300m f class and they come out very uniform.

I have 4 Dashers going at the moment and try not to turn down to the base of 6BR brass. I usually try to stop at the neck/shoulder junction.

I then size up to 25 cal, make a false shoulder which still has some brass jam, then also jam the bullets about .020" as well. My brass usually ends up with very similar OALs.

I run a .264 neck and turn neck. I turn down to make false shoulder and jam a 107smk.
