Don't get as hot as aluminum when shaping but the dust is another story.

Hey Brett the one you made for my MBR came out real nice.......although not that much fun to make.
But I like it......well I should say now my cousin Alina likes it alot.....lol

Early on I made all the butt plates and rudders for my stocks. Never and I mean NEVER again. Lol

You could lazer cut them just to speed the job up.and etch what ever pattern you want on it.radious the edges to suit.

I hated polishing aluminum until I broke down and bought a buffer and the proper wheels. That makes it way easier.

My Grizzly buffer sat in it's shipping box since 2008. I bought it to polish barrels and have always just used the lathe..never had the desire or occasion to put on a mirror finish. I recently mounted it to do butt plates and rudders ...yes it does work well....but it's still a messy job....

Now if I can just get that 5 inch vise mounted too....
