I also use Play Dough. Very easy to form and clean up.Been using Play Dough for 30+ years. Very easy clean up. Clay is a PITA
An air blast will remove the release agent with out scratching the bluing, if you use the liquid in the acraglass kit.Now you made me buy an air compressor for the basement of my sod hut!![]()
It runs though. At least all I've seen did.Am I the only one who uses Silly Putty?
Cleans up great, usually peels out in one piece with no residue.
Reuse over and over again.
Plus you can copy the funny papers with it!

Yep, +2 vote on that.Give Plumbers Putty a try, you may like it better than modeling clay.
What I use. You could get it in the giant eggs. You can't prep the action days in advance, as it will creep but with epoxy in place it stays in place well.Am I the only one who uses Silly Putty?

Not a deal breaker and it does work pretty well but is loaded with salt unless the newer stuff is different. Lots of options but if you haven't tried hot glue, you should give it a try. Maybe you decide it's best in some areas vs others but I think you'll be glad you gave it a try.I also use Play Dough. Very easy to form and clean up.
People have been telling me about the salt content for decades. Never had one issue using it. I've left bedding jobs for a week and all it does is dry out, shrink and that makes removal that much easier. Not a deal breaker and it does work pretty well but is loaded with salt unless the newer stuff is different. Yep.. got a few pounds that is over 35 years old, still good as new. Use it over and over again.Duct Seal (aka dum dum) typically used on service entrance cable into meter base. Won't dry out and adheres better.
Yes, no big deal. I guess maybe, big maybe..if some was left in there and it was against blueing but I'm not sure it would hurt in then either. Like I said...not a deal breaker and it probably doesn't matter at all. Given the choice and if I liked something else equally or close to as well, I might lean toward something without the salt but like you, I've never actually seen it be a problem and I used to use it because of how easy it cleans up vs clay. Again, my favorite has become hot glue.People have been telling me about the salt content for decades. Never had one issue using it. Been using it for over 15 years and have never seen an issue with play doh. Its not going to cause any finish damage sitting for a day and I would guess the salt on people skin is worse on a firearm finish than play doh.Not a deal breaker and it does work pretty well but is loaded with salt unless the newer stuff is different.
