Altering dies for neck bushings

I have a few dies I would like to alter to accept neck bushings.
My plan which is very, very, very likely to be way harder than it needs to be, because thats how I roll!
Put die body into a double cat head and then reach in to die body through neck hole with a long curved indicator stylus.
Then crank the rpm's and jab at it with some carbide.
I kind of feel like this is way overkill since the bottom and sides of the bushing hole arent super critical(clearance is clearance). But cant think of a better way.
Is there a way easier way to set up to get the critical bushing top stop part perfectly perpindicular?
PLEASE DONT POINT OUT THEY SELL THEM ALREADY DONE.
Thats way to easy to suit me! Its the off season gotta stay busy, right?

how about posting a picture of the boring bar you plan on using
I got to see this!!!
reread your post, now I see what you are doing. I originally thought you were going to bore thru the neck hole

They are only crazy hard on the surface, once you get through that they machine excellent.
I tested feasability of machining one with a cheapo chinese bar from ebay.
Had also thought about using a grinder to eat through the hard part.

I am about to do the same thing with a Redding body die. I am going to dial it in on the case side dead nuts. Take a small skim cut on the od to make it run concentric. Reverse it in a collect and go to town. I have done several this way and it has worked great for me . Good luck. :D:D
