Alpha Munitions 6 PPC Brass

I learned on this forum to always use the same company's expander as
your turner. My least favorite chore in all of shooting. Except cleaning guns.
+1^^^
Getting the mandrel and cutting tool too hot will cause this problem of galling with any brass as I found out with Lapua and Norma. So I purchased this Ergo tool from K&M, and I slowed down my pace on how fast I ran cases through the turning tool.

It acts as a heat sink and makes holding that cutting tool much easier on the hands. Money well spent on that. I also use the K&M expander mandrel and have never had any issues with galling with it as long as I keep the expander and cutting mandrel lubed.

My method is running 5-10 cases through the lubed expander, then turn them, then repeat the process and try to not get in a hurry and run too fast on the drill while turning. This way, I think reduces the possibility of spring back causing issues too. JME FWIW. WD

Try using Cool Tool Aluminum. I put a couple drops on the mandrel and 1 on the neck. The only reason I stop is because I'm tired of doing it, not from heat.
