I've loaded Fed 205 GM primers into 308 Alpha brass and they seat very tight, but no issues with these.

Alpha dasher brass has been fine for me, Peterson on the other hand was a huge pain to prime.

CCI 450s seat a little tight in my Alpha 6bra brass. They also might stick out a lil proud, maybe a couple of thousanths.

If I remember correctly, on the new brass, it was a pretty good chore to seat the primer using my Lee hand held. I may have finished the job using my RCBS bench mounted seater. After a couple of firings, the Lee does the job just fine.

I found primers terribly hard to seat in the first batch of alpha 6bra brass I bought. Had to use the press......for the first 3 or 4 firings. Haven't tried the second batch yet.....

I think you'll find that primer distortion doesn't affect accuracy.

I started using Alpha Dasher brass and never noticed anything unusual seating my 450's.

They seem to work fine but maybe need a couple tenths of a grain less than Lapua for same results.

I have primed 100 pieces for my 6brai twice. Nice and snug but no problem priming with 21st century tool.

I found my peterson brass in my 284 KMR, and dasher fireformed from BR to be excellent in both the primer pockets and consistency on target.

Alpha brass has tight primer pockets. I have 308 small primer brass with 50 firings that a go gauge still does not fit in.

You will need/want a premium priming tool like the 21st century hand primer. The cheap RCBS handheld tools will give you a hard time.

Also helps to push it in half way, turn the brass 180 degrees and finish. You'll feel where I'm talking about once you try it.

I have used both Fed GM205M and CCI 450 primers in new 6 mm Dasher Alpha Brass with no issues using a hand priming tool. Part of my initial brass prep process, however, is to uniform all of the primer pockets with a K&M primer pocket uniforming tool. It did appear that the primer pockets were a bit snug when I was uniforming them. I have not tried seating a primer without uniforming the primer pocket.

I can assure you, that you are chasing cats if you're cutting alpha brass pockets out. All you're doing is reducing the life of the brass.
