Alpha 6PPC Brass

I just got my monthly newsletter from PMA tool and it contained some
welcome news in regard to PPC brass. It seems that PMA has been working with Alpha and initial results have been promising. Cut and paste from the newsletter.

Now for the big news in the world of brass...

Many of you are keenly aware of the shortage of components, especially 220 Russian brass for use in the PPC family of cartridges. We've been working with Alpha Munitions on development for a long while now and Alpha is very close to having 6PPC brass available. They are looking to get this brass in as many experienced shooters' hands as possible for final testing before bringing it to full production. With any luck, we will have some for distribution at the IBS Nationals in under two weeks. This first allocation is already spoken for, if it passes muster with the experts, we should be stocked up sometime in the Fall.

I had the pleasure of shooting 30 pieces of the first samples and now have 23 firings on that first set. So far I have not had any issues with it and the primer pockets are still holding firm. Here are a few notes from my testing:
  1. neck wall thickness - .0129" - .0140"
  2. weight distribution 108.7 - 109.8gr
  3. primer pocket diameter .172"
  4. flash hole .060"
  5. no excessive case length growth
  6. no "clickers"
Since initial testing, Alpha Munitions has changed a few of their specs based on input from their guineau pigs. These slight changes should result in some of the best PPC brass around. We are really looking forward to getting this brass into the hands of some real experts. The retail price on Alpha Munitions 6PPC brass will come in at $160.

This is my story and I'm sticking to it;
the increase in length came from turning the necks down to .0082 for my .262 necked chamber, not from the initial firing.
I never thought to check oal after turning, will do from now on
