I have found that the plain base, double coated, then sized with a case lube pad eliminates the need for a gas check up to 2,500 fps and gives sub .5 inch groups. Skip the GC, change the moulds and use the shake and bake, with a nose down bake in an hardware cloth box, turned up side down.

The question was asked because I had absolutely no knowledge of this practice , and wanted to gain knowledge about it . And BTW ; I'm not one of those BR guys , either .

Nose down? Something to try. Maybe there is some accuracy to be had by a better coating on the base instead of a pretty nose.
